Training Workshop for Testimonies Collectors

Towards The Public Truth Committee for 1948 Events 

Zochrot association is initiating a three meetings workshop to train testimonies collectors from Zionist Fighters and Palestinian Refugees on 1948 events in the frame of a Public Truth Commission due to take place on the 21st of October, 2014 in Beer Sheva.

Workshop agenda:

  • Introduction to the field of Oral History and the field of Truth Commissions
  • Practical training in testimonies collection (methodology of testimonies collections, technical and historical guidance, practices and techniques of an interview, screening excerpts of video testimonies and interpretation)

Facilitator: Raneen Jeries

Guest lecturers: Ami Asher and Debby Farber

Upon the completion of the workshop, the participants will be invited to locate and collect testimonies from Zionist Fighters and Palestinian Refugees and to assist in their preparation towards the Public Truth Committee event in Beer Sheva.

The workshop will be in Hebrew and includes 3 meetings in Zochrot offices, 34 Itzahk Sade st, Floor no. 4, Room no. 400, Tel Aviv.

The third meeting will be coordinated later on.

Number of participants is limited and participation in the workshop is pending on preliminary meeting. The participation is free of charge.
