On May 15th 1948 the state of Israel declared its independence. Since then, that day is commemorated as Nakba Day. The Nakba did not begin and certainly did not end on that day, but the declaration of a Jewish state, exclusive for Jews despite what the scroll of independence proclaimed, whilst mass displacements and massacres were already undergoing, became a symbol of the dispossession of Palestinians from their homeland, the prevention of their return and their constant state of refugeehood. 

We invite you to take part in “Ten Days of Return” between Israeli “Independence” days, May 5th and Nakba Day, May 15th. Through a series of public events and actions we will connect those two events that are actually one and will call for acknowledgement of the Nakba, acknowledgment of the need to redress the crime, and support for Palestinian return. 

This time of the year is a volatile one for Palestinian and Israelis, but we invite you to expand your imagination with us, to join tours in the landscape to think differently about spatial reality, to listen to speakers, participate in conversations and take part in actions that bring back hope for justice, peace and return.
