Zochrot is joining again the Human Rights March in Tel Aviv, organized by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, to remind the Right of Return of the Palestinian refugees as one of the basic rights commemorated by this march. The UN included the right of return at the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948. Only a day later the UN passed 194 resolution calling for the return of all refugees as soon as possible to their homes.

Once more Israel attacked Gaza. Once more, a ceasefire agreement. Once more, thousands of casualties, dead, injured and traumatized. The last "round of escalation" is another belated offshoot of the Nakba. Ever since 1948, most Gazans have been refugees seeking recognition of their fundamental right: to return. So long as the Right of Return is not acknowledged and realized, we can expect continued violence and life under constant fear.

We'll meet on Friday, December 7, 2012, 10:15am at HaBima Square.
