Media coverage of the Truth Commission 12/01/2015 The Truth Commission for the exposure of Israeli society’s responsibility for the events of 1948-1960 in southern Israel/Palestine started its deliberations at the end of October 2014. The commission has seven members, Israeli Jews and Palestinians, including Palestinian Bedouins from the Negev area, all active in civil society and academia.

Nowadays, Nakba commemorations by Palestinian citizens of Israel are becoming more public and more assertive. And they come with a modern twist, such as a mobile app that pinpoints in Hebrew, Arabic and English the location of more than 500 Palestinian villages that were emptied, overrun or abandoned in the 1948 war.
